Tóm tắt

This article aims at introducing the new approach to family studies in Robertson's book named "Beyond the Family: The Social Organization of Human Reproduction" (1991). As a socialist of structural functionalist, Robertson considered a household as. a "social organization of human reproduction" which cannot be viewed simply as a static and separate unit but is rather connected closely to the economic and political environment. This perspective provides us with a useful tool to examine the interaction between micro and macro phenomena, namely, the interrelation between household and economy.
