Potassium has an important role in increasing productivity of F1 hybrid rice on the thionic fluvisoils in coastal area of Thai Binh province. Potassium efficiency was 5.3-9.3 kg paddy rice per kg K2O on the thionic fluvisoils. Best levels of potassium fertilizer application for hybrid rice on the thionic fluvisoils in coastal areas is about 90kg K2O with 10 tons of manure +120kg N + 90 kg P2O5 per ha. For better efficiency for hybrid rice on the thionic fluvisoils in coastal area of Thai Binh, this amount of potassium fertilizer should be applied as either 1/3 for planning dressing and 2/3 for top dressing or 1/2 for planting dressing and 1/2 for top dressing.
