The paper has presented some reasons leading to the water depletion downstream the river, the requirement of the relevant water allocation and sharing as well as the maintenance of the minimum flow at downstream. The different scenarios for supplementing the water for meeting water shortage of Thach Nham weir have been proposed. The study results have shown that the water losses in Thach Nham irrigation and drainage structure is high, so the responsible company needs to invest more money and efforts in operation and maintenance of the whole system in order to reduce the water leakage, improve the water use efficiency for irrigation of Thach Nham system on Tra Khuc river.
