In Vietnam, the tobacco flea beetles have been damage roots of sapling causing the plant to turn brown and die (approximate 10 percent of planted seedlings) in recently years. The CRY genes encoding crystal protein against insects of Bt have been become the main insect resistant gene source in transgenic crops. In this study, the recombinant plasmid pCAMBIA-cry8Da containing cry8Da gene, which encoded cry8Da protein toxic to Coleopteran insects was transformed into Nicotiana tabacium K326 via Agrobacterium tumefaciens. The results of Western blit showed that the protein cry8Da was expressed in cells of N. tabacum K326 to held these plants aganst coleopteran insects.
