Arieu Piing ceremony (exhumation ceremony) is major and the most sacred festivals of Pako people held once every five or ten years. The article describes the steps of Arieu Piing ceremony in A Luoi district, Thua Thien Hue province. The ceremony reflected a good cultural tradition expressing spiritual attachment between the living and the deceased, which has been handed down from generation to generation and is still maintained. Although the time of the ceremony has been shortened for thrifty reason, the ritual practices and the performing steps are still fully implemented. However, Arieu Piing ceremony still show inadaquate issues of environment, exotic cultural elements and costly expense, which need to be corrected so that this festival becomes a special and distinctive cultural features of Pako people.
