Using of the combined method of direct haemagglutination with shifting assay of standardized direct haemagglutination inhibition (HA-SSDHI) and shifting assay of standardized indirect agglutination (SSIA) could detect Newcastle disease virus antigens both in supernatant centrifuge liquids of fecal samples and in mouth exudates of chickens. The research showed that the SSIA is slightly more sensible than HA-SSDHI in detection of NDV antigens in chickens, meanwhile fecal samples had a higher percentage of the virus antigens than those of mouth exudates, but the both differences were not statistically significant. The research did also show that about 20 percent of chickens in Thua Thien - Hue province are infected with the virus.
