Identify relationship between ABO, Rh(D) blood group and diseases related to bleeding disorders to contribute for diagnosis and anticipation of the diseases is very necessary. Objective: To study the proportion of ABO, Rh (D ) blood group among patients who have bleeding disorder diseases at National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion (NIHBT) in 2009-2010
Methods: This retrospective study used hard copy and electronic patient documents, records. ABO, Rh blood group and disease pattern of 2.479 bleeding disorder patients who hospitalized at NIHBT during 2009-2010 were study. Results: There was higher proportion of O blood group and lower proportion of A blood group among Hemophilic and other bleeding disorder patients, especially von Willebrand in comparison with normal persons. There was also a relationship between Rh (D) blood group and bleeding disorder patients. Conclusion: Identification of the difference between proportion of ABO groups of blood disorder patients in comparison with normal people can contribute for diagnosis and anticipating the diseases.
