The aim of study is to evaluate the efficacy, tolerability and adverse effects of a standard triple therapy inciuding: Rabeprazole, Clarithromycin and Amoxicilline at Sai gon Hoan My hospital in order to evaluate this regimen in treatment H. pylori for patients who have not yet eradicated before or take over for alternative regimens. By a descriptive cross-sectional study, the author have performed 116 patients, who suffer from peptic ulcer, received 10-day therapy including Rabe (20mg b.d), Clari(500mg b.d) and Amoxi(lg b.d). H.P eradication is confirmed with endoscopy after 4 weeks of treatment. Results: 100 percent of patients are initially enrolled in the study and noboby is lost for following-up. Mean age was 49 yr, 62 percent were male, 73(62.9 percent) presented duodenal ulcer, 28(24.1 percent) gastric ulcer and 15(13 percent) simultaneous gastric and duodenal ulcers. All patients have taken medication correctly. Per-protocol and intention to treat eradication rates were both 75percent (95 percent CI=73.4-78.3). Additionally, 62(53.4 percent) patients had at least one risk factor for peptic ulcer disease, smoking being the most common 44(37.9 percent). The adverse effects were reported overall in, 67 percent of the patients, mainly including changing of taste, bitter, tired 49 percent, trouble in sleeping 12 percent and diarrhea 5 percent. Conclusions: The ten-day standard triple therapy used in this study is ineffective and had a high adverse effects although not severe. The first line in H.P eradication with new regimens should be developed and used.
