From 1/2006 to 12/2009, there are 338 blunt splenic trauma patients underwent nonoperative management at Viet-Duc Hospital, 260 patients (77.1 percent) with haemodynamic stable or restabilised after resuscitation, without combination injuries required laparotomy. Result: the successful rate of the procedure is 97.4 percent, the complication rate is 0 percent, the laparotomy conversion is 2.6 percent (100 percent related splenic injury). Number of dead cases is zero. Conclusion: With good condions in Viet-Duc Hospital, non operative management of blunt splenic injury is safe and effective technique applicable to hemodynamically stable patients who lack other indications for laparotomy and who can be adequately monitored.
