The cross-sectional descriptive study conducted in 6-7/2011 aims to assess knowledge and practice on handwashing with soap of the people in comparison with indicators of the baseline survey (2006). The survey subjects were 390 children aged 6-15 and 390 adults aged 16-60 living at households in the scale of Unilever project in Northern communes. The results showed that: The rates of the respondents washing hands with soap increased from 6.0 percent to 54.9 percent (washed before eating), from 0.8 percent to 15.3 percent (washed after urinating) and from 14.6 percent to 66.5 percent (washed after defecating).
