Research aims: To evaluate the results of activities of Hanoi Association of Young Blood Donor Recruiter durirg the period 2000 - 2011. Method: Cross-sectional and retrospective study
the target groups are members
volunteers of the Association and relevant documents basing on research indices and variable. Results: 9 sub-associations and 75 clubs have been eshtablished with 13,523 volunteers. 110.994 units of blood have been collected at its own collection sites such as fixed sites, mobile buses, roadshow, festivals and events. The motivations that attract volunteers are desire for contributing to cummunity and to save patient's lives (97 percent) and to train themself the soft skills and to enrich the scocial knowledge (96,3 percent). Conclusion: Good results of the activities of the Association have been achieved during 11 years with 13,523 volunteers and 110.994 units of blood collected. The most favorable activity is social event accompanying with blood collection (50 percent). During .the time with the Association, all members have had chances to broaden the knowledge related to safe blood, to pracifse teamwork and presenting skills.
