Leaf area index (LAI) of cotton grown in the dry season increased slowly during first 55 days since the time of sowing. The LAI increased fast and reached the top 75-85 days after sowing and decreased gradually to the end of growing season. There is a ralation between the seed cotton yield and LAI. As the LAI of cotton increased from 3.66 to 4.07, the seed cotton yield rose. Net assimilate rate (NAR) is high at the flowering and went down gradually to the end of growing season.
