Phuc Trach pummelo is one of the special pummelo cultivars in Vietnam in general and in Ha Tinh in particular. At present, Phuc Trach pummelo production is quite low and its unattractive apprearance is due to damage of pests and sunburn, leading to low economic efficiency. Improving fruit quality and apprearance is needed in the context of integrating to the world's economics. For the purpose of detennining the time of bagging fruit and choosing suitable bagging fruit materials for the Phuc Trach pummelo, many experiments were conducted. The results of the studies indicate that: Fruit bagging at 30-50 days after flowering (when fruiting is stable) makes good fruit appreance, bright yellow-green, glossy skins and reduces a considerable number of pests. The bagging materials to protect fruits are mostly effective, but with different levels. Chinese yellow paper bag gave the best result green- yellow skins, naturally glossy, no pests, no sunburn or other mechanical damage. These techniques should be applicable to mass production as they give clearly economic efficiency.
