Khanh Hoa is a Southern central coastal province with the coastal line of 385 km, islands, bays and river channels as well. Therefore, the fisheries capture is one of industries that have development advantages in Khanh Hoa. Skipjack tuna (Kptsuwonus pelamis) is considered as the major target harvesting species of some important fishing occupations in this province, such as gillnetting and purse seining occupations. This research accesses the theory of value chain to analyzing value chain of the skipjack tuna in Khanh Hoa. The actors participating in the value chain include fishers, large traders, and export seafood processing companies, dealers and retailers, of which the first three actors play the most important role in organizing and conducting the skipjack tuna market. The study results demonstrate that distribution of benefits among actors in the value chain is unbalanced. The fishers give the biggest value-added, but they receive the lowest benefit, conversely, the big traders and the export seafood processing companies contribute smaller ratios of valua-added than that of the fishers while these two actors get the largest ratios of profit margin. The research recommends some solutions for linking closely to the actors and hannonizing benefits between the actors within the value chain for the developmentof Khanh Hoa's skipjack tuna.
