In recent years, the land use evaluation of FAO has been commonly used in Vietnam. However, this method has not been applied in the forestry sector yet. For this reason, the authors conducted a research on "Applying the land evaluation of FAO for proposing forestry land use at Dong Phu district, Binh Phuoc province" in order to: (1) Make a comprehensive evaluation of the forestry land resources in the district
(2) Evaluate the adaptation possibility of some land use types in relation with the production potential of the district's forestry land
(3) Select and propose types of land use for establishing a basis for forestry land use arrangement in Dong Phu district. The results of overlaying the map of actual land use state with the map of the current land adaptability of the study area indicated that there is 22.1 percent of the land area in use not compatible with the quality of land at the current conditions.
