The study on the biological characteristics of Orius sauteri was carried out under laboratory conditions in Nghe An province. The life cycle of Orius sauteri was studied at 25°C, 30°C, and 70 percent RH using some pests as prey (eggs of Corcyra cephalonica and Tetranychus urticae and nymphs of thrips Frankliniella intonsa). The duration of the life cycle of Orius sauteri varies depending upon food which they feed on. At 25°C and 70 percent RH Orius sauteri complets its life cycle in 15.32, 17.19, 23.03 days when feeding on nymphs of thrips F. intonsa, eggs of C. cephalonica and eggs of T. urticae, respectively. In case of 30°C and 70 percent RH the life cycle of Orius sauteri was 11.45, 14.52 and 20.94 days, respectively, feeding on nymphs of thrips F. intonsa, eggs of C. cephalonica and eggs of T. urticae. A female laid 39.9-42.4 eggs averagely. The daily predation rates of pair of adults was 15.43 nymphs of T. urticae or 29.19 nymphs of thrips F. intonsa.
