A total 34 plant species that common in black pepper farm in Cam Lo, Quang Tri were examined as possible alternative hosts for Phytophthora capsici Leonian. Detached leaves were inoculated with an agar blocks from 5day-old cultures of P. capsici on potato dextrose agar (PDA) and disease symptom was observed and counted after 1 day inoculation. Wrightia antidysenterica, Abelmoschus esculentus, Alstonia scholaris, Erythrina orientalis, Leucaena leucocephala and Oroxylum indicum, are used as living tree poles, were highly colonized by P. capsid.
