The objective of this study was to determine values of some basic anthropometric measurements and to evaluate the nutritional status of Dong Da district adults based on Body Mass Index (BMI). Subject and method: including 2927 adults (1217 males and 1710 females) were carried out research according to cross - sectional study. The anthropomemc measurements were gathered induding: stature, sitting height, head circumference, thoracic circumference etc... Evaluation of the nubitional status was based on BMI for Asian adults. The result showed that: The average height of Dong Da district adults (age group 30-39) was 166.97cm for men and 155.92 for women. The height both sexes increased continuosly following age and scored maximumly at age of 23-24 for males: 169.81cm and 22 for females: 155.92cm. The average height of Dong Da district adults was higher than the ones of My Duc and Ba Vi districts as order: 3.59cm and 3.99cm with significant difference (p 0.001). Acording to the nutritional classification for Asian adults, the nutritional status of Dong Da district adults was at normal in almost age groups, but the age group (50-59) for males and (40-49) for females, it was closed at overweight level (BMI 23).
