Urinary tract infections (UTI) is one of the most common infections in children. In young children the symptoms are often atypical so diagnosis should mostly based on clinical tests. Objective: To study some of the clinical test in hospitalized children with UTI. Methods: The retrospective study described 120 medical records of patients with UTI in urinary kidney Department in the National Pediatrics of Hospital during the period from 01/01/2008 to 31/12/2009. Result: the majority cause (80 percent) of urinary retention is phymosis, then vesicoureteral reflux (10.9 percent). Abnormal malformation on ultrasound is pyelonephric dilatation (10.7 percent) and vesicoureteral reflux on cystography (27.3 percent). Urinary leukocyte +++ was 66.7 percent. Urinary erythrocytes +++ was only 7.1 percent. Most patients (70.2 percent) have low urinary protein (0.5g/l). Conclusion: The majority of patients hospitalized was pyelonephritis. The malformation cause was vecicoureteral reflux. Protein in patient with UTI was often lower 0.5 g/l.
