Aims of this study is to understand the change of some parameter echocardiography in mitral valve disease and the relationship between damage of the mitral valve with this change. Study was conducted on 162 patients affected mitral valve having an average age of 51.5 + or - 12.0 (118 mitral valve having an average age of 51.5 + or - 12.0 (118 females, 44 males) including 16 patients with stenosis mitral pure, 9 patients with regurgitation mitral pure and 137 patients with a narrow-cleft mitral co-ordinate hospitalized in cardiology of hospital Viet Tiep Hai Phong in period from january 2004 to june 2005. Methods: Echocardiography TM, 2D and Doppler. Results: Most of patients with expansion of left atrial, with increase of gradient pressure maximum (PGmax), with increased pressure of systolic pulmonary artery (90.1 percent, 96 percent and 86.3 percent). Majority of them with increase of volume systolic (SV), with spontaneous Echo contrast in the left atrium (73 percent and 57.4 percent). Some of them with expansion of left ventricular, with decrease of ejection fraction (EF), with left atrial thrombosis. Mitral valve as narrow as causing PGmax increased, increased pressure of systolic pulmonary artery, increased proprotion of spontaneous Echo contrast in the left atrial. Mitral valve as regurgitated as causing expansion of left atrial, expansion of left ventricular, increase of volume systolic, but decreased proprotion of spontaneous Echo contrast in the left atrial.
