There is a close relation between rhinitis and asthma. Allergic rhinitis considered as a risk factor for asthma along with other known riskfactor. Obiective: To find out about relation between allergic rhinitis and asthma and its impact on asthma. Objects: This study include 60 patients with asthma (disease group, 60 patients without asthma (control group) being treated in Allergic and Clinical Immunology Department of Bach Mai Hospital. Method: Case - control study. Results: + Disease group: There are 36 asthmatic patients with rhinitis (60 percent). + 77.8 percent asthmatic patients suffered from rhinitis before. + Rhinitis is a onsetfoctor ojdyspnea. + Control group: only 15 patients with rhinitis (25 percent). Conclusion: + Ratio of asthma in patient with rhinitis is 4.5 times as high as patients without rhinitis (OR = 4.5). + Patients with allergic rhinitis, expecialy the assessment oj airflow obtruqrion before and after bronchodilator. + Patients with asthma shoud he appropriate eva/utated (history and physiscal examination) jor rhinitis.
