A total of 227 patients infected with mature tapeworms were investigated at the National Institute of Malariology, Parasitology and Entomology from 2007 to 2010. Their stool samples were examined for egg and proglottis of tapeworm. Proglottis and eggs of tapeworm were found in 62 and 41 stool samples, respectively. A total of 131 proglottis extracted from anus were also checked and 124 tapeworm proglottis were confirmed. All of 227 patierzts were treated with anthemintics, of which 222 patients were found to be tapeworm free in the post-treatment examination. One case (0.4 percent) of emergency with treatment was recorded.
