Aims: to study the clinical characteristics and images of the eye in diabetic patients and the relationship between clinical features and images of the eye in patients with diabetes.Methods: descriptive study 96 eyes of 48 diabetic patients al the clinic visit or ophthalmology treatmenl at Hue Central Hospital from 4/2009 to 4/2010. Results: 48 patients (96 eyes) in which female is 21 and male is 27. Prevalence of diabetic retinopathy (DR) is 47.9 percent
Including: mild non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy (mild NPDR) is 30.43 percent
moderate NPDR is 30.43 percent
severe NPDR is 21.71 percent and proliferative diabetic retinopathy (PDR) is 17.4 percent. Conclusions: Some common risk factors related to the progression of DR are duration of diabetes, locality, following and treatment of.diabetes mellitus, level of the retinal vascular impairment.
