VB09 is the product made from Coptis teeta wall, Phellodendron amurense rupr, scutellaria baicalensis georg and Gardenia jasminoides ellis, for an antioxydant and poison waste. The product met institutional standards but there was no research on its safety. The result showed that: - Acute toxicity of VB09 orally in white mice: LD50 = 241.67 + or - 31.79 g/kg, p 0.05.- Oral administration of VB09 on rabits at the dose of 2g and 6g/kg/24hours, continuously administrating for 42 days did not influence their weight, electrocardiogram and heamatological indexes such as red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets and heamoglobin contents. The hepatic indexes (levels of AST, ALT) and renal indexes (levels of urea, creatinine) were in normal range. The pathological histology of rabits' liver, kidney and spleen were normal.
