My Loc site at Tan My commune, Tan Uyen district, Binh Duong province was discovered by T.V. Holbe in 1889, surveyed in 1976 and test-excavated in 1977. In 2004, My Loc site was excavated with 4 trenches. The cultural layer has numerous artifacts including ceramics, stone tools and so on. The sterile layer is light brown laterite one. The stone artifacts include variforms, most of them are manufacturing tools such as axes, hoes and chisels. There are some ornaments from the type of disc-shaped bracelets made of schist. Particularly, the author found a large number of sandstone grinders, including 950 items. The found ceramics are similar in from and material to the nearby sites such as Cu Lao Rua, Doc Chua, Binh Da. My Loc is not only a settlement site but also a handicraft workshop for grinding to finalise the products. The archaeological data show that My Loc site might have been an initial site for bronze casting in the South of South Vietnam with the dates within 3,000 BP - 2,500 BP.
