In order to obtain data on the fish composition of Van Uc estuarine area, two field surveys was carned out in 2007 and 2011. A total 104 fish species representing 40 families and 13 orders were identified, and showed a high level of diversity at the order and family taxa level, of which the order Perciformes was the most dominant (57.7 percent and 52.5 percent in total of species and families, respectively). On average, each order had 3.1 families, and 8 species
each family had 2.6 species
and 5 orders (38.5 percent) had only one species. With 41 fish species (39.4 percent) having economic value, Van Uc estuarine area play an inportant role in local communities. Some anadromous species that were very high economic value in the past such as Clupanodan thrissa, Konosirus punctatus and Tenualosa reevesii has been being in the critical status of declined and not able for exploitation.
