The main objective of this research is to selecte the protential of lactic acid bacteria (LABs) for use to produce microbiology product in poultry litter treatment. Twenty one LABs were isolated from twenty six samples. The results of the standard physiological and biochemical tests identified ten isolates of Lactobacillus acidophilus, two isolates of L. plantarum, four isolates of L. bulgaricus, four isolates of Streptococcus lactis and one isolate of Srept. cremonis. All most of them are homofermentative Lactobacillus. A series of tests carried out by studying the ability of bacteria to survive at 50°C
tolerance at pH 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8
ability of LABs to produce lactic acid, protease enzyme as well as ability to inhibit E. coli and Salmonela typhimurium. The results selected thirteen isolated strains which showed good ability to growth at low pH and high temperature, to produce high level of lactic acid, protease enzyme and to inhibit enteropathogen growth.
