Objectives: Assesses nutrition status of the children 6-14 year olds in urban and uuburban area of Hanoi. Method: Crosssection study was using of 8561 pupils in 30 primary and secondary school in urban and suburban area of Hanoi. Conclusion: Overweight and obesity rate of pupils 6-14 of ages in urban area was 10.7 percent including obesity was 3.0 percent. The highest proportion overweight and obesity belong to 10 year old (18.2 percent) and the lowest rate in 14 year (6.4 percent). The rate of overweight and obesity in boys was higher than girls (16.1 percent and 5.7 percent) with p 0.001). The proportion of overweight and obesity in urban area (13.1 percent) double times compare with suburban area (6.2 percent). Undernutrition rate was 9.1 percent and in suburban area (11.5 percent) higher than urban area (7.8 percent).
