Four flavone glycosides were isolated from the methanol extracts of the Diospyrds dictyonema leaves. Structural elucidation by NMR and ESI-mass spectral data in reference to the literatural values identified them to be kaempferol 3-0-[2,3-bis-( 4-hydroxy-E- cinnamoyl)-alpha-L -rhamnopyranoside] (1), keampferol 3-0-alpha-L-rhamnopyranoside (2), kaempferol 3-0-(2 "-0- beta-D-glucopyranosyl)-alpha-L-rhamnopyranoside (3) and quercetin-(2"-O-beta-glucopyranosyl)-a-L-rhamnopyranoside (4). Of them, compound (1) and (2) have been reported to exhibit cytotoxic activity against some cel lined and anti-inflammatory activity, respectively. These compounds were isolated from Diospyros dictyonema for the first time.
