Fentanyl citrate was synthesized and fentanyl citrate injection was prepared. The structures of the obtained products were confirmed by IR, MS and NMR spectra. Fentanyl citrate and fentanyl citrate injection were both tested on USP 30. All tested samples met the requirements of USP 30.
