This paper deals with the possibility of Confucian environmental ethics with a view of location and in the Western perspectives. First, it inquires into the location of environmental ethics in the Western perspectives, discusses Aldo Leopold's and Roderick F. Nash's thought. Secondly, this paper argues that Confucian environmental ethics could be set up by located and received environmental ethics into Confucianism, based on "Mencius", "Yizhuan", "Zhongyong", "Daxue" and Wang Yangming's thought. Lastly, four subjects of Confucian environmental ethics are under discussion, these are the ground, the meaning and the influence of kindness to things from "Mencius", and the problem of bringing full development to the nature of things from "Zhongyong". The conclusions are: a) Confucian environmental ethics is grounded on human nature which is the essence of all things
b) Kindness to things means doing good to things
c) Anyone who has no kindheartedness to things is not a person
d) All men can know and practice environmental ethics, but only sages can realize it completely.
