Growth: The growth of Rattus exculans has been observed from the birth, young, growth and maturity period. Rattus exculans have the fastest growth in the young period. In the two remaining periods (growth and maturity), the strongest weight speed occurs in the third month while the body length increases sharply in the second month. The growth of Rattus exculans has a tendency to decrease by the months. Reproduction: Rattus exculans mature quite early (1.5-2.5 months old) in the farming condition. On average, the maturity period of males is 54.5 days, which is earlier than the one of females (61.79 days). The gestation period of rattus exculans is about 19-20 days. The breeding season of rattus exculans mainly begins from February to September. The number of offspring per litter is 2-8 (an average of 4.7 offspring/ litter).
