Fabric after weaving contains starch, fatty and waxen substances in fibers. These substances reduce fabric comfortbility and make fabric become stiffness, bad wettability and air permeability. By finishing treatment these substances are removed, in order to improve end-use values of natural-fiber fabric, fabrics are usually softened by chemical or mechanical methods. The article presents a modification of cotton-softened fabric mechanical properties at low load including tensile, shearing and bending properties. The results determined on Kawabata' instruments show that, after fabric treated by softening linearity of tensile LT reduces by 12 percent - 58 percent, that means fabric stiffness decreases
tensile resilience RT reduces by 14 percent - 47 percent mainly in weft direction
shear rigidity 2HG and 2HG5 decrease 70 percent and 62 percent that means inter-fiber and inter-yam friction reduce
bending rigidity B decreases 50 percent - 70 percent and bending hysteresis 2HB reduces 60 percent - 80 percent, it shows that, after softening finishing, yarn mobility in its structure increases.
