The investigation into the medical arthropod and evaluation of the sensitivity of the Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus in Phu Quoc island, Kien Giang province was conducted in 2010 and 2011. A total of 7,365 individuals of seven medical arthropod groups were collected in which 163 medical arthropod species were identified, belonging to 46 genus, 12 families, two classes (Insecta and Arachnida). In that, fleas (Siphonaptera) have 4 species, 2 genus, 2 families
ticks (Ixodidae) have 7 species, 3 genus
chiggers (Trombiculidae) have 17 species, 5 genus
mites (Gamasoidea) have 15 species, 4 genus, 4 families
mosquitoes (Culicidae) include 74 species, 12 genus
flies close to home (Muscoidea) include 64 species, 19 genus, 3 families. Aedes aegypti population in the town of An Thoi were resistant to the chemicals such as alphacypermethrin, lamdacyhalothrin, permethrin, deltamethrin, etofenprox, cyfluthrin, DDT and may be resistant to malathion
Aedes aegypti population in Duong Dong town were resistant to Jour types of chemicals: lamdacyhalothrin, permethrin, deltamethrin and DDT, but malathion.
