In this study, the author use review study method and epidemiological analysis on the situation of food poisoning caused by natural toxic pathogens in the period from 2007 to 2010 in Dien Bien province, a mountainous province in the Northern part of Vietnam. Results were shown that: among 70 food poisoning outbreaks, 55.7 percent (39 ones) were caused by natural toxic pathogens. The mortality rate was 5 percent (highest one) out of acquired cases. Poisonous fungi is the most cause of all poisoning cases (accounts for 75.7 percent)
wild fruits account for 8.4 percent, Gelsemium elegans (la ngon) (8 percent), Datura metel (ca doc duoc) (5.3 percent) and finally Manihot esculenta (san) (2.6 percent).
