Objective:Assess nutritional status with National minority children under 5 years old in Phu Thinh commune, Yen Son districts, Tuyen Quang province, 2011. Method: Crosssection study was using of 298 children under 5 years old. Results: The rate of stunting malnutrition highest in all ethnic, especialy the rate of stunting ethnic Dao was 47.9 percent. The malnutrition with weight for age in Tay ethnic account for the highest percentage (34.7 percent). Generally, the rate of malnutrition is lowest in Cao Lan and Kinh ethnic. The rate of malnutrition with under Weight 29.5 percent, stunting 36.5 percent and wasting 13.1 percent. The rate of malnutrition among children under 5 years old tend to increase according to age group, highest in the group 36 to 47 months and 48 to 59 months. Conclusion: Status stunting malnutrition is common in all ethnic, research results as a basis for intervention oriented prevention of malnutrition for ethnic minorities children in mountainous areas to be effective.
