Research to study the relationship between workload and job satisfaction was conducted in provincial Yen Bai hospital in 2010 with cross-sectional design, combined both qualitative and quantitative data collection tools with 67 clinicians. Although the time allocated for medical and treatment activities were rather limited, especially in Examination Dept and OB/GYN Dept, the satisfaction rate with medical services was highest. There was significant relationship between workload and number of patients, time for examination and treatment, number of nigh duties and update medical knowledge. There are needed comprehensive intervention and fits to the local context to reduce the burden at patients at higher levels.
