As result of household food insecurity, which caused by flood, a vet}' poor nutritional status among children uber 5 years old and their mothers were observed in 2 districts of Quang Sinh province. Daily food consumption of children in flood time became a big concem. The prevalence of under weight among under five children increased to 57.7 percent in Tuyen Hoa and 44.9 percent in Minh Hoa, beyond twice higher than the provincial data 2011
Wasting-acute malnutrition also increased to 19.7 percent and 18.6 in Tuyen Hoa and Minh Hoa, respectivel
approximately twice higher than the 2011 national data (6.7 percent)
Stunting was 38.9 percent in Tuyen Hoa and 37.5 percent in Minh Hoa
Mothers' Chronic Energy Deficiency (CEO) was around 30. percent higher than that of the 2 district data 2011. There have been relative high rates of illnesses among the surveyed households' members, dianhea 38 percent in Tuyen Hoa and 32.4 percent in Minh Hoa.
