The paper analyzes the arguments about the "historical evidence" of China over Spratly islands are published on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China. The author's analysis shows that the so-called "historical evidence" cited from history books or ancient maps of China are not reliable because they are are either unoriginal, or being distorted to fit their claims over the East Sea. Actually, all documents and events that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China considered as evidence supporting their claims are more or less opposed to their statement. Moreover, almost every published Chinese document cannot be found
meanwhile, the contents of corresponding documents which can be found on websites or in foreign libraries are opposed to what they claim. All of the above show that Chinese statement of having a lot of "historical evidence" strongly supporting their claims over the East Sea, particularly the Spratly Islands, is in fact fabricated.
