This study aimed to evaluate the metritis situation, clinical symptoms, effect of disease on breeding productivity
survey on pathogenic bacteria and testing the treatment protocols for metritis in exotic sow herd that were carried out at 3 exotic sow farms. The studied results showed that the rate of metritis sows was rather high (46.54 percent). The metritis was usually concentrated in the primiparous sows and from the sows with the sixth breeding time onwards. The highest incidence of metritis was observed in summer and the lowest incidence was in autumn. The clinical criterion such as the body temperature, respiratory frequency in metritis pigs increased in comparison with healthy pigs. An important sign of the metritis sow was the exudate discharged from the genital organ. The metritis disease affect on breeding productivity of the sows. In the uterus and vagina liquid of metritis sow, 100 percent of the samples presented E. coli, Staphylococcus, Streptococcus and Salmonella, while the ratio of Pseudomonas was 33.3 percent. Testing with 12 antibiotics and pharmaceutical chemicals, the isolated bacteria were only susceptible with Amoxycillin, Lincomycin. Treatment for the metritis sows by using Hanprost (1M, with dose of 2ml/sow/one time) combining flushing uterus with Lugol solution (1500ml/day/one time during 3-5 days), and antibiotics: Lincogen or Amoxycillin together with vitamins, strengthening medication, fluid transfusion, antipyretics... has given a good result.
