Objectives: 1/Describe situation of prevention of HIV/AIDS transmission from mother to child at National Hospital Gyneco-Obstetric from 10/2010 to 6/2011. 2/Intially evaluate the rate of transfer system succesefully and the effectiveness of prevention treatment of HIV transmission from mother to child in this period. Subject and methods: Research cohort, overall sample size. Result: Among 77 cases deliveries infected with HIV have 97,4 percent mothers HIV (+) were received ARV
in which 84,4 percent were received early ARV (46,7 percent mothers were treated for themselves 3 types of drug and 37,7 percent were received ARV in pregnancy), 76 newborn living, 1 case death because respiratory insufficiency, 88,2 percent newborn living were transferred to National Children's Hospital and were tested PCR early at 4-6 week's age, 68 percent were tested antibody Elisa at 18 month's age. The rate of transmission HIV from mothers to child in the study was 1,49 percent. This result is quite low, similar as the international results, due to the early detection for women infected HIV in pregnancy and intervention ARV before, in labor most-partum.
