Recently, stems and roots of Paramignya trimera have been used to treat liver diseases. The methanol extract of roots of Paramignya trimera was distributed in increasing polarity of organic solvents: n-hexane, chloroform and ethyl acetate. From the n-hexane extract of roots, one novel coumarin. ninhvanin (2), ostruthin (1) and 6-(2-hydroxyethyl)-2,2-dimethyl-2H-l-benzopyran (3) were isolated. Their structures were determined by using ESI-MS, HR-ESI-MS and NMR (ID and 2D) spectroscopic methods. This is the ftrst time the NMR data of ostruthin (1) was assigned by using two-dimensional NMR methods.
