By using various chromatographic methods, four steroids, 3P-hydroxycholest-5-en-7-one (1), 3beta,5alpha,6beta-triolcholest-7-en (2), saringosterol (3), and cholesterol (4) were isolated from the metanolic extract of the Vietnamese marine sponge Mycale plumose. Their structures were identified by spectroscopic methods including ESI-MS, 1D- and 2D-NMR in comparison with the literature values. This is the first report of the NMR data of (2).
