The paper explores the teaching of Vietnam's border through history textbooks written in Chinese" and "Nom" scripts. The results show that most of the history textbooks were constantly concerned with the issue of national border
the scope of mention could be various depending on each author and level of education, but the issue of national border was always placed at the top of each book. This shows that the authors of history textbooks in the past considered national border as the essential content that students need to master before learning the histqry of our nation through each stage. That is the difference between history books in the past and the ones today. Consequently, Vietnamese history textbooks written in Chinese and "Nom" scripts are proved to be valuable documents in disseminating knowledge of our country's border as well as in using them for reference to compile history textbooks. Therefore, the study of these books is essential work.
