Aim: Assessement of some epidemiological, clinical features of hypoglycemia in Pediatric Intensive care unit of the national hospital of Pediatrics. Patients: 38 patients was diagnosed hypoglyce mia during 48 hours admitted in ICU according to Reid S and Service FS. Method: retrospective description. Result: Hypoglycemia was aranged all the ages, mainly 5 years acounted for 76 percent, most of them lived in the countryside, the parents had low knowledge, malnutrition was 47 percent, only 5.3 percent patients was diagnosed hypoglycemia in local hospital. The cause of hypoglycemia related to the infection, the heart failure and the live failure,.. .endocrinology, metabolic disorder was very low. The patient of hypoglycemia usually hadn't clinical symptome ( 63.2 percent) or the symptome was unspecific.The symptome of severe principal disease: moitle, tachycardia, blue skin, vomitting, convultion or coma. The level of blood glucose was: 2.1 +/- 0.7 mmol/l (0.5-3.0 mmol/l),74 percent patients had mean blood glucose: 1.6-2.8 mmol/l. Conclusion: hypoglycemia usually occurred on the severe patients in P ICU. Having to pay attention to diagnosis and treatment for decreasing mortality rate.
