Objectives. Evaluate clinic manifestations and radiological diagnosis of suprasellar meningiomas. Method: The author retrospectively review the medical documents of a consecutive series of 37 patients treated at Viet-Duc hospital for suprasellar meningiomas between 6/2006 to 6/2011. Results.Female/Male: 2.7/1, mean age 48.6
Deterioration of visual acuity (usually asymmetrical) was presenting in 83.8 percent patients, among these 32.4 percent with unilateral or bilateral visual loss
visual field defect 59.4 percent
headache 29.7 percent. CT-sanner reveals 81.1 percent tumors which are isodense and slight hyperdense, 100 percent lesions were strong enhencement with CT contrast. IRM shows isodense mass lesions in 54.1 percent on T1-weighted and in 51.3 percent T2-weighted
after administration of gadolinium, these lesions have dense and homogeneous enhancement, and 86.5 percent of cases have sign of dural tail. Conclusion: Suprasellar meningiomas has a preponderance in women, and the mean age at diagnosis is 48.6. Visual symptoms occur early and is usually slowly progressive. The radiological diagnosis demontrastes a homogeneous mass lesion at level of sella, that was isodense or slight hyperdense, densely enhenced, and a dural tail.
