The study was to assess clinical manifestations, laboratory findings of knee osteoarthritis in elderly diabetic patients. The results showed that the rate of knee osteoarthritis in elderly type 2 diabetic patients was 90.4 percent. The mean age of patients with knee osteoarthritis was 67.4 + or - 7.9, and average duration of knee osteoarthritis was 2.5 years. The main clinical symptoms was pain accounting for 84.4 percent. A vast majority of patients with knee osteoarthritis was in Kellgren II (52.5 percent) and Kellgren III (40.6 percent). In conclusion, the rate of knee osteoarthritis is high in elderly diabetic patients accompanied with typical clinical manifestations and laboratory abnormalities in elderly diabetic patients.
