Asthma is a chronic inflammatory respiratory disease, which is most common in children. Children under 5 years of age are often hospitalized due to respiratory diseases. However, each year there is a number of children older than 6 years of age hospitalized with acute asthma at the Department of Allergy and Immunology of the National Hospital of Pediatrics. So percentconducted this study aim to find the characteristics children with asthma from 6-yearold who were treated at the National Hospital of Pediatrics. This was a series of case study on children from 6 to 15 years old admitted to hospital with acute asthma. The results showed that there was 106 inpatients over 6 years old in the one year
a group of children under 10 years old was 83 percent. The male/female ratio was 2/1. 33 percent of children were first diagnosed of asthma. Most of them were mild asthma, with 91.5 percent of grade 1 and grade 2. However, nearly 85 percent of children had moderate and severe asthma exacerbations. Conclusion: Although the grades of children with asthma over 6 years old are mainly mild but in the acute periods, they often suffer from moderate or severe asthma.
