Study results have confirmed hybrid form between F. hepatica and F. gigantica in Quang Ngai province. Nucleotide sequence of ITS-2 gene with 924bp length of the ribosomal region have 13 position nucleotide difference between three Fasciola spp. forms coexist in Quang Ngai province. Molecular methods identified for 3 different species of F. hepatica, F. gigantica and hybrid F. hepatica/F. gigantica. This intermediate form present in both samples collected in cattle and humans. This is an evidence for hybrid genetic between two types of Fasciola in Vietnam and Southeast Asia. This explains the mechanism that causes human fascioliasis in Vietnam and Southeast Asia has characteristics unlike the other regions of the world. This is a biodiversity and complexity of the zoonotic.
