Aim: to evalute the intraoperative complication of phacoemulsification and to indicate the solution to repaire them. Methods: The article study the intraoperative complication of phacoemulsification in 232 eyes in Optic department, Viet Tiep hospital from Jan 2001 to Oct 2003. Results: The rate of posterior capsular rupture without vistreous loss was 1.29 percent, descemet membrane tear in was 2.58 percent, incision burn was 1.72 percent, interior capsular tear was 2.15 percent. Conclusions: The rate of surgical complications is acceptably low, not severe, and well recovered after treatment. Better outcome was achieved with more experience and adopting better techniques.
